Bu araştırmada, lise öğrencilerinin öznel iyi oluş düzeylerinin, cinsiyet, okul türü, sınıf düzeyine göre farklılık gösterip göstermediği, duygusal zekanın alt boyutları olan; kişisel beceriler, kişilerarası beceriler, stresle başa çıkma, uyumluluk, genel ruh durumu ile öznel iyi oluş arasındaki ilişki ve duygusal zekanın öznel iyi oluş üzerinde etkisi olup olmadığı incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın evrenini 2006?2007 öğretim yılında Konya Selçuklu ilçesinde bulunan 29 liseye devam eden 18743 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Bu 29 okuldan, Selçuklu Anadolu Lisesi, Atatürk Sağlık Meslek Lisesi, Fatih Endüstri Meslek Lisesi ve Atatürk Lisesi seçilmiştir. Araştırmanın örneklemini 236 kız, 249 erkek; toplam 485 oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada; lise öğrencilerinin öznel iyi oluş düzeyleri, Dost (2004) tarafından geliştirilen ve Özen (2005) tarafından lise öğrencilerine uyarlaması yapılan Öznel İyi Oluş Ölçeğinin Lise Formu ile ölçülmüştür. Duygusal zeka yeteneklerini belirlemek amacıyla Acar (2001), tarafından Türkçeye uyarlama çalışmaları yapılan Bar-On EQ Anketi kullanılmıştır. Ölçeğin, güvenirliğini test etmek amacıyla, araştırmacı tarafından 183 lise öğrencisine ön uygulama yapılmış ve güvenirlik hesaplanmıştır. Cronbach Alpha katasayısı en yüksek .93 ve en düşük .63 olarak bulunmuştur. Verilerin analizinde t testi ve tek yönlü varyans analizi kullanılmıştır. Varyans analizi sonucunda elde edilen F değerinin anlamlı bulunduğu durumlarda farkın hangi gruptan kaynaklandığını bulmak için Tukey HSD testi yapılmıştır. Bulguların değerlendirilmesinde anlamlılık düzeyi .05 olarak alınmıştır. Duygusal zekanın alt boyutları ile öznel iyi oluş arasındaki ilişkiyi belirlemek amacıyla korelasyon hesaplanmıştır. Öznel iyi oluşun duygusal zeka üzerindeki etkisini bulmak amacıyla çoklu regresyon uygulanmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgular şu şekilde özetlenebilir; lise öğrencilerinin öznel iyi oluş düzeyleri cinsiyetlerine ve sınıf düzeyine göre anlamlı bir farklılık göstermemektedir. Genel lise öğrencilerinin Anadolu ve meslek liselerine göre öznel iyi oluş düzeylerinin daha yüksek olduğu bulunmuştur. Öznel iyi oluş ve duygusal zekanın alt boyutları arasında genel olarak orta düzeyde ve anlamlı bir ilişki saptanmıştır. Öznel iyi oluşun duygusal zeka üzerinde anlamlı bir yordayıcı olduğu saptanmıştır. Bulguların değerlendirilmesinden elde edilen sonuçlara göre yorumlar yapılmış ve benzer konularda çalışmak isteyenlere önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
In this study, differences in the subjective well-being of high school students as a function of gender, kind of school, school level and relation between of subscale of emotional intelligence; intrapersonal abilities, interpersonal abilities, adaptability scales, coping with stress scale, general mood scale and subjective well-being were examined. In addition to this, whether emotional intelligence had any effect on subjective well-being or not was examined. The population of the study consisted of 18743 students who attend to the 29 high schools which are in the district of Selçuklu in Konya in the term of 2006-2007. From this 29 high school, Selçuklu Anatolian High School, Atatürk Healthy Vocation High School, Fatih Industry Occupation High School and Atatürk High School were selected by random. The sample of the study consisted; 236 girls and 249 boys are 485 students totaly. In this study, subjective well-being level of high school students were measured by the Subjective Well-Being Scale for High School Form which was developed by Dost (2004) and adapted to adolescents by Özen (2005). In the order to determine the students? emotional intelligence abilities, The Bar-On Emotional Quotient Inventory that was adapted to Turkish by Acar (2001) was utilized. The scale tested for Reliability on 183 high school students by researcher. The end of this application, the highest of Cronbach Alpha Reliability Coefficient is .93 and the lowest is .63. In the analysis of the data t test and one way ANOVA were used. The source of the differences was tested with employing Tukey HSD test for the groups with homogenous variances. The findings were evaluated at .05 significant levels. Determination the relation between emotional intelligence subscales and subjective well-being were calculated Pearson Correlation Coefficient. To find the effect for subjective well being on emotional intelligence were used regression analysis. The findings of the study can be summarized as follows; subjective well-being of high school students doesn?t differ significantly depending on gender and class level. Subjective well-being levels of general high school students are higher than anatolian and vocation high school. Generally between subjective well-being and emotional intelligences subscales moderate level and significant relation were determined. Subjective well being is a significant predictor on emotional intelligence. In the respect of the results obtained from the evaluation of the findings comments were made and suggestions were proposed.
