Boron is very important for human and plants, can be taken at maximum 0,3 mg B/ kg in a day and it can be harmful when taken at elevated doses. In this study, boron removal from potable and irrigation water membranes was studied and the effect of some parameters such as concentration, pH, time, membrane structure and different ions on boron removal were investigated. In addition, the feasibility of the system was examined. AHA anion ion-exchange membrane have been used for boron removal. The flow rate of boron through anion exchange membranes were found to be between 2,659 ×10-8-3232,950 ×10-8 mmol cm-2 s-1 with respect to concentration, pH as well as ion properties. It was also seen that the fastest boron passage occured at pH 9,5. In addition, it was determined that different ions accelerated reverse flow transition and that HCO3- ion was more effective than Cl- and SO4-2 ions. All experiments were performed at room temperature and the concentration of boron at receiver phase was determined by ICP-AES. It could be concluded that Donnan Dialysis is an appropriate method for boron removal from aqueous solution when an appropriate anion was chosen at suitable pH value.
