Bu çalışmanın amacı yeni programa göre hazırlanan ders kitaplarının öğretim boyutuna ilişkin öğretmen görüşlerinin belirlenmesidir. Araştırmada betimsel yöntem kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini Ankara İli merkez içlerinde görevli 4. ve 5. sınıf öğretmenleri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini random yöntemi ile seçilen 57 okulda, 362 4-5. sınıf öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan 34 soruluk ölçek ile veriler toplanmıştır. Nicel verileri desteklemek için açık uçlu sorular da sorulmuş olup analiz edilmiştir. Veriler analiz sonucu, öğretmenlerin çoğu ders kitaplarında anlatımın az olduğunu, deneylerin öğrenci seviyesinde olması gerektiğini, alıştırma ve örneklere daha fazla yer verilmesi gerektiğini belirtmiştir. Ayrıca, aynı tip etkinliklerin yer aldığı kitapta farklı tip etkinlik de görmek istediklerini belirtmişlerdir. Öğretmenlerin kıdemleri arasında sadece kavram yanılgıları faktöründe anlamlı farklılık yer alırken diğer faktörlerde anlamlı bir farklılık bulanamamıştır. Ayrıca; farklı öğrenim durumlarına sahip ve 4.-5. sınıf öğretmenlerin görüşleri arasında da anlamlı bir farklılık bulunamamıştır.
The purpose of this research is to determine the opinions of teachers in relation to the educational aspect of text books that have been prepared within the new curriculum. The study makes use of descriptive research methods. Data has been collected through a scale of 34 questions prepared by the researcher. Open-ended questions were asked and analyzed in order to support quantitative data. Whereas the universe of the study consists of classroom teachers who teach the 4th and 5th grade within Ankara central district, the sample consists of 362 4th and 5th grade teachers employed at 57 different schools selected through the random sampling method. As the data analysis revealed, teachers tend to think that textbooks have too little amount of information, that they should be considerate of the students? level and should devote more space for exercises and examples. Moreover, the teachers stated their wish that books which make use of a single activity should involve several different ones. Within the level of seniority of teachers, the only significant difference was found with relation to the conceptual misconceptions factor and none of the other factors involved a significant difference. Furthermore, the results of the study did not reveal any significant difference concerning the opinions of teachers with different educational backgrounds.
