Grup ve gösteri deney tekniklerinin öğrencilerin bilimsel süreç becerilerine, başarılarına ve hatırda tutma düzeylerine etkileri

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Fen ve Teknoloji öğretiminde grup ve gösteri deney tekniklerinin öğrencilerin bilimsel süreç becerilerine, başarılarına ve hatırda tutma düzeylerine etkisini araştırmaktır.Evrenini, Kırşehir ili ve Merkez İlköğretim okulları; örneklemini, Cacabey İlköğretim Okulu'nun 6. sınıfları oluşturmuştur. Çalışma, ön test- son test, bir deney- bir kontrol deneme modeline göre yürütülmüştür. Araştırmada, 6. sınıflarda 3 hafta süreyle okutulan; ?Yaşamımızdaki Elektrik? ünitesi işlenmiştir. Bu ünite, kontrol grubuna gösteri deney tekniğiyle işlenirken; deney grubuna grup deney tekniğine göre hazırlanmış materyaller kullanılarak işlenmiştir. Araştırmada; öğrencilerin deneme sonundaki başarı düzeyi, ders anlatımının bitmesinden 10 hafta sonra uygulanan hatırlama testinden aldıkları puanlar ve bilimsel süreç becerileri testinden aldığı puanlar bağımlı değişken olarak ele alınmıştır. Başarı düzeyini belirlemek amacıyla uygulanan testlere ait veriler, SSPS paket programından yararlanılarak, bağımsız gruplar t-testi analiz modeliyle değerlendirilmiştir. Öğrencilerin başarı düzeylerinin belirlenmesinde güvenirlik katsayısı (? = 0.848) olan ve 25 sorudan oluşan testten yararlanılmıştır. Uygulama sonunda yapılan ve 25 puan üzerinden değerlendirilen son test puanları deneme grubunda 20.65, kontrol grubunda 17.26 olarak bulunmuştur (p=0.000). Ancak uygulama bitiminden 10 hafta sonra uygulanan hatırlama testinde deney grubunun ortalaması 17.91, kontrol grubunun ise 14.04 olarak belirlenmiş ve aralarındaki fark anlamlı bulunmuştur (p=0.000). Yani deney grubu öğrencilerin kontrol grubuna göre öğrendiklerini çok daha iyi hatırlamaktadırlar.Araştırmada uygulanan öğretim tekniklerinin öğrencilerin bilimsel süreç becerileri üzerine etkilerini görebilmek amacıyla deneme başında ve sonunda uygulanan Bilimsel Süreç Becerileri testi uygulanmıştır. Deneme grubu öğrencilerinin Bilimsel Süreç Becerileri ön test ve son test sonuçları arasında anlamlı bir farklılık oluşmuştur (p=0,000). Kontrol grubu öğrencilerinin Bilimsel Süreç Becerileri ön test ve son test sonuçları arasında anlamlı bir farklılık oluşmamıştır (p=0,061).Araştırma sonunda, grup ve gösteri deney teknikleri arasında istatistikî ölçüde önemli bir farka rastlanmıştır (p<0.05). Fen ve Teknoloji öğretiminde grup deney tekniğinin gösteri deney tekniğine göre öğrencilerin başarı düzeylerini arttırmakta, bilimsel süreç becerilerini geliştirmekte ve bilgiyi hatırlama seviyelerini arttırmakta daha başarılı olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

The purpose of this study is to do research the Effects of the Experiment Techniques of Group and Demonstration on students? scientific process abilities, achievement and the ability of recalling.The research system is formed on the followings; City of Kırşehir and Schools of Upper Primary Education. Sampling is formed on the students of 6 th grades of Cacabey Primary School. This study is executed by the pre-model, past-model, experiment model and model of control.On this research; a topic which is studied by year 6 students called ``Electricity on our Life?? was represented. This topic was represented by experiment techniques of demonstration to control group, on the other hand, elaborated materials were represented to the experiment group. On the research; ability of students? achievement was evaluated and graded by 10 weeks test on recalling program. In order to determine the level of achievement; dates referring to practiced tests, were evaluated by the help of SSPS program and the test of independent group analysis. Some kind of a test which is based on 25 questions reliability factor (? = 0.848), was used in order to assess the level of students achievement. Upon completion, the result f what was as following; experimental group was 20.65, control group was 17.26 (p=0.000). But 10 weeks later after the experiment completed, average point of experiment group was 17.91 point and 14.04 point was the score of control group. So, as a result the difference was significent. At the same time, the experiment group was better recalling than the control group.Also, the Students were tested on scientific process achievement. Trial group students had meaningful difference between the consequences of pre-test and result-test. (p=0,000). On the contrary there was no significent difference between the pre-test and past-test for the control group (p=0.061).As a result, a considerable dedication was encountered on statistical measure between experiment techniques of group and demonstration (p<0.05). While studying on Science and technology, Group experiment technique raises the level of student achievement and the level of recalling over demonstration experiment group.
