Euripides'in 'Medeia' adlı oyunu ve çağdaş bir anlayışla sahnelenmesi

Abstract

İçerik bakımından oldukça zengin olmalarına karsın, günümüz seyircisi Antik Yunan oyunlarına mesafeli durmaktadır. Benzeri bir kaçınma oyuncular için de geçerlidir. Bu durumun baslıca sebebi antik oyunların günümüz tiyatro anlayısına uymayan, katı biçimsel özellikleridir. Eğer çağdas bir anlayısla sahnelenirlerse, içerik bakımından zaten değerli olan bu eserlerin modern seyirci tarafından daha rahat algılanabileceği düsünülerek, öncelikle metin üzerinde bir takım kısaltma ve sadelestirme çalısmaları yapıldı. Daha sonra oyun, günümüz tiyatro tekniği ve teknolojisinin sağladığı olanaklardan faydalanarak sahnelendi. Tüm bu çalısmalar sonunda hazırladığımız tezde, öncelikle dönemi, yazarı ve eseri daha iyi tanımamıza yardımcı olacak bir giris bölümüyle birlikte eserin dramaturjik analizi ve reji defteri yer almaktadır.

Although Ancient Greek tragedies have rich contents, contemprorary audience seems reluctant to watch these plays. Not only the audience but also many actors abstain from acting those plays. The major reason for this is the rigid form of the Ancient Greek tragedies, which may not symphatetic and familiar to the contemporary audience. So it was taught that if an Ancient Greek tragedy is staged with a modern understanding, the audience can enjoy those works, the content of which are still valuable and relevant for us. For this reason, the text was shortened and made more comprehensible. The play was staged by applaying modern theatre techniques and employing modern technology. The thesis which has been prepared at the end of these studies, consists of an introduction that includes information about the period, the playwright and the play; dramaturgic analysis and the notes of the director.
