In this work, polarization mechanisms in measurement of dielectric properties of calcium-montmorillonite clay have been examined. Dielectric measurements of the sample were carried out in the 5 Hz - 13 MHz frequency region, and at temperatures of 23°C, 42°C, 60°C, 80°C and 100°C. First, sample was prepared as a disk with a smooth surface. Then, at the specified temperatures, the temperature was held constant by Elektro-mag Temperature Controller, impedances of the sample were measured by using a HP 4192A LF Impedance Analyzer. Corresponding to these values, permittivity and conductivity values of clay sample and Complex Electric Formalism and Electric Modulus were calculated. The modulus obtained from theoretical works was fitted to the experimental modulus mentioned above, and the relaxation times and relaxation frequencies were determined using the parameters obtained from these fit operations. Relaxation frequencies for each temperatures step were displayed on an Arrhenius plot, and by the help of slope of this graphic, Activation energy of the sample was determined.
