Geleneksel Türk dokumaları arasında önem taşıyan Çumra Yörük dokumaları araştırma konusu olarak belirlenmiştir. Konya ili Çumra ilçesinde dokunduğu tespit edilen 63 örnek ile yapılan bu araştırmada Yörük dokumaları incelenerek gruplandmlmış ve bezeme özellikleri belirtilmeye çalışılmıştır. Yörük dokumaları, bilimsel olarak incelenmeye çalışılmış ve konuyla ilgilenenlere bu çalışmanın kaynak olabileceği düşünülmüştür. Araştırmanın giriş bölümünde, araştırmanın tanımı ve önemi, amacı, sınırları ve izlenen yöntem üzerinde durulmuştur. İkinci bölümde Konya ili Çumra ilçesinin coğrafî, tarihi ve sosyal konumu, Çumra ilçesinde dokuma sanatı hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde Çumra Yörük dokumalarının özelliklerinin incelendiği gözlem fişleri yer almıştır. Dördüncü bölümde Yörük dokumalarınm tanımı; Yörük dokumalarının yapımında kullanılan araçlar, gereçler, teknikler; Yörük dokumalarının smıflandmlması mcelenmiştir. Yörük dokumalarının sınıflandırılması kendi içinde bezeme çeşitlerine göre (geometrik, bitkisel, nesneli, mitolojik, figürlü ve yazılı), desen özelliklerine göre ve kullanıldığı yere göre belirtilmeye çalışılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonunda tablolardan, yazılı ve canlı kaynaklardan elde edilen bilgiler ışığında Yörük dokumalarının günümüzde bulunduğu konum belirtilmiş, konuyla ilgilenenlere önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
Being important among the traditional Turkish weavings, Çumra Yuruk weavings, have been chosen as the research subject. In this research which have been made by 63 samples having been determined that they had been weaved in Çumra district in Konya, Yuruk weavings have been seperated into groups by examining and its decoration properties have been tried to be completely defined. Yuruk weavings has been tried to be examined scientifically and this research has been thought to be a resource for people interested in this subject. In introduction, the description, importance, limits and the way followed have been given stress. In the second section, there have been given information about the geographical, historical and social position of Çumra district in Konya and about the weaving art in Çumra. In the third section, observation index cards, in which Çumra Yuruk weavings have been examined, have been involved. In the forth section, the description; the equipments and techniques used in making Yuruk weavings; and classification of Yuruk weavings have been examined. The classification of Yuruk weavings have been tried to be defined as to their decoration variety (geometric, vegetal, with objects, mythological, figurative, architectural and written) in themselves. At the end of the research, with the help of written and living resources, the position of Yuruk weavings today have been stated and there have been some suggestions to people who are interested in the subject.
