Hastane infeksiyonları hastanede yatış süresini uzatmakta, hastada önemli sağlık sorunlarına hatta ölüme yol açmaktadır. Aynı zamanda ek mali yük de getirmektedir. Hastane infeksiyonları çok sayıda başarılı geçen ameliyat veya diğer tıbbi tedavileri başarısız kılmaktadır. Hastanede yatarak tedavi gören hastaların başarılı bir şekilde tedavisi ancak hastane infeksiyonlarının önlenmesi ile mümkündür. Hastane infeksiyonlarının önlenebilmesi için bu konuda deneyimli bir ekibin olması ve buna destek olacak hastane yönetimi ile sağlanabilir. Hastane infeksiyonlarının önlenmesinde en önemli birim enfeksiyon kontrol komitesidir. Araştırmanın örneklemini, Selçuk Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Hastanesi'nde çalışan 100 doktor, 100 hemşire ve 100 temizlik personeli oluşturdu. Bu çalışmanın amacı hastane çalışanlarının hastane infeksiyonları konusundaki bilgi düzeylerinin belirlenmesidir. Konu ile ilgili literatürler taranarak 22 sorudan oluşan bir anket hazırlanmış ve tüm çalışma grubuna uygulanmıştır. Ankette yer alan ilk dört soru kişisel bilgileri içermekte idi. Katılımcılar arasında hastane infeksiyonları konusunda eğitim alanların puan ortalaması daha yüksekti. Sonuç olarak hizmet içi eğitimin bilgi düzeyini artırdığını gözlemlediğimiz çalışmada, bilgi puan ortalaması hemşirelerin %73.1, doktorların %59.2 ve personellerin %52.3 olarak belirlenmiştir. Üç grubun bilgi puan ortalaması 61,5 olarak bulunmuştur.
Hospital infections increase the duration of hospitalization, leading to serious health problems or even death of the patient. It also brings in additional financial burden. Hospital infections causes fail in many successful surgery or other medical treatments. Successful treatment of inpatients in the hospital is only possible with the prevention of nosocomial infections. The prevention of nosocomial infections must the supported by the hospital management and with an experienced team of infection control commity and this commity is the most important unit for the prevetion of hospital infections. İndividuals included in the study were the staff of Selcuk University, Medical Faculty Hospital (100 doctors, 100 nurses and 100 housekeeping staff). The aim of this study was evaluating their knowledge about hospital infections. Reading literature we prepared a questionnaire consists of 22 questions and carried out to all study groups. The first four questions of the questionnaire were about personal information. Among the participants, staff who had education about hospital infections had higher scores. We determined that the level of knowledge changed by training, the professional nurses who had education periodically had the highest scores (73.1 over 100), doctors had 59.2 points and house keeping staff had 52.3 points. The average knowledge score of the three groups was found to be 61.5.
