Bu araştırmanın amacı, birleştirilmiş sınıflı okullarda görev yapan öğretmenlerin çalıştıkları yerlerin kültürü ile etkileşimlerinin öğretmen, öğrenci, köy halkı ve eğitim öğretim üzerindeki etkilerinin değerlendirilmesidir. Birleştirilmiş sınıflarda görev yapan öğretmenlerin çalıştıkları yerin kültürü ile etkileşimlerinin belirlenmesine yönelik bu araştırma da nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum çalışması modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2009-2010 yılının eğitim öğretim yılının ikinci döneminde, Konya iline bağlı 23 tane birleştirilmiş sınıflı okulda 24 tane sınıf öğretmeni, Mersin iline bağlı 8 tane birleştirilmiş sınıflı okulda 15 tane sınıf öğretmeni, Isparta iline bağlı 17 tane birleştirilmiş sınıflı okulda 21 tane sınıf öğretmeni oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada toplamda 48 tane okuldan 60 tane sınıf öğretmenine anket uygulanmıştır. Örneklem seçilirken amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden ölçüt örnekleme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Ölçüt ise sınıf öğretmenlerinin en az bir (1) yıl birleştirilmiş sınıf öğretmenliği yapmış olmalarıdır. Verilerin toplama aracı olarak, konu ile ilgili literatür taranarak kuramsal temel oluşturulmuş ve literatür bilgilerinden yararlanılarak yarı yapılandırılmış bir görüşme formu uygulanmıştır. Öğretmen görüşme formu iki bölümden oluşmuştur. Birinci bölümde kişisel bilgilerin elde edilmesi amacı ile hazırlanmıştır. İkinci bölümde ise; birleştirilmiş sınıflı okullarda görev yapan öğretmenlerin çalıştıkları yerin kültürü ile etkileşimlerini belirlemeye yönelik olmuştur. Verilerin toplanmasında nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden görüşme ve gözlem yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analiz edilmesinde veriler çözümlendi ve her ölçme aracına bir kod isim verilerek yorumlandı. Araştırma sonucunda şu bulgulara ulaşılmıştır; her bölgenin kedine özgü kültür etkinlikleri olduğu, öğretmenler bulundukları yerlerdeki kültür faaliyetlerinin içinde bulunmaya çalıştıklarını, çalıştıkları yerleri kültürü ile etkileşim içinde bulundukları, öğretmenlerin hayatlarında ve davranışlarında olumlu-olumsuz değişiklikler oluşturduğu, köyün sosyo-ekonomik ve kültürel yapısını bilmenin eğitim-öğretim etkinliklerini düzenlemede etkili olduğu, öğretmenin kültür ile etkileşimlerin okul-aile işbirliği üzerinde olumlu etkiler yarattığını ancak az da olumsuz yanlarının da olduğu, yeniliklere uyum sağlamada ve kendilerini geliştirmede öğretmen etkisinin olduğu ancak bazı durumlar için olmadığıdır. Birleştirilmiş sınıflı okullar ve bu okullarda çalışan öğretmenlerin şartlarını olumlu hale getirmek için Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı ve Milli Eğitim Müdürlükleri'nin öğretmenlerin büyük bir kısmının hiçbir şey yapmadıklarını düşündükleri ve birleştirilmiş sınıflarda eğitim-öğretim sürecini sınırlandıran durumların başında programın, kitabın birleştirilmiş sınıflara uygunsuzlu ve zaman problemi olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
The purpose of this research, multigrade class of teachers working in schools, work places of interaction with the culture of teachers, students, villagers and to evaluate the effects of education.
