Bu çalışmada internet, internet haberciliği ve Türkiye'deki internet haber sitelerinin habercilik etiğine bakışı araştırılmıştır. Çalışmada etik, ahlak, meslek etiği, medya etiği, medyadaki etik sorunların nedenleri, internet, internet haberciliğinin etik sorunları v.b konularla ilgili literatür ve belgesel tarama teknikleriyle çeşitli kaynaklar taranmıştır. Ayrıca çalışmada Türkiye'deki haber sitesi temsilcilerinin gazetecilik etiğiyle ilgili görüşlerinin araştırılması ve haber sitelerinin günümüzdeki durumunun ortaya konması amacıyla haber siteleri temsilcileriyle birlikte veri toplamaya dayalı bilimsel anket uygulaması gerçekleştirilmiştir.Elde edilen verilerin analiz edilmesi sonucunda haber sitelerinin temsilcilerinin birçoğunun gazetecilik ahlak kurallarıyla ilgili yargıları ve çeşitli etik kodları desteklediği tespit edilmiştir. Site temsilcileri mesleki etik bağlamındaki söz konusu kural ve kodların internet haberciliğinde de uygulanması gerektiği yönünde görüş belirtmiştir. Lakin çalışmaya katılan haber sitesi temsilcilerinin gazetecilik etiğiyle ilgili görüşleriyle uygulamalarının ters yönde olup olmadığı eleştirel çerçevede sorgulanabilir. Yine de geleneksel medyayla da iç içe geçebilen eski ve internetle birlikte gündeme gelebilen yeni etiksel sorun alanlarının araştırılarak tartışılması önemlidir.Ankette ayrıca sayısı her geçen gün artan haber sitelerinin bugünkü durumuyla ilgili genel veriler elde edilmiştir. Haber sitelerinin çalışanlarının azımsanmayacak bir bölümü ne gazetecilik eğitimi almıştır, ne de mesleki tecrübeye sahiptir. Sitelerin yarısından fazlası sigortasız eleman çalıştırmakta, çalışanların maaşlarını ödemekte güçlük çekmekte, ekip çalışması yapılamamakta, kadrolarında kadınlar azınlıkta kalmaktadır. Öte yandan Türkiye'de internete yönelik hukuki düzenlemeleri yetersiz bulan haber sitelerinin 'haber çalma/yanlış bilgi vs.' gibi hukuki sorunlar yaşadığı, kimisinin herhangi bir haberden dolayı cezaya maruz kaldığı öğrenilmiştir. Tüm bunlara karşın haber sitelerinin örgütlenmeleri ise dernek düzeyinde ve niteliği tartışılır bir seyir izlemektedir. Fakat her şeye rağmen geleneksel medyanın da ilişkili olduğu internet haberciliğini kapsayacak çeşitli hukuki, bilimsel, sosyal, ekonomik, örgütsel çözümler üzerinde düşünmek ve çalışmak gereklidir.
Within this work, internet, internet reporting and the view of the news portals in Turkey to the ethics of reporting have been examined. In the work, various sources about the subjects on ethics, morality, occupational ethics, media ethics, the reasons of the ethics problems in the media, internet, the ethics problems of internet reporting have been gone through by the help of the techniques of examining the literature and documentaries. Furthermore, a practice of a scientific interview based on accumulating the data together with the representatives of news portals has been done in order to research the point of views of the representative news portals about the etthics of reporting and to reveal the present situation of the news portals in Turkey. Considering the analysis of the available data, most of the news portals representatives support the judgements about the journalism moral rules and various ethics codes. The site representatives opined that the rules and codes on occupational ethics should be applied within the internet reporting as well. However, whether news portals representatives? opinions on reporting ethics and their performance are controversial can be questioned. Still, it is crucial to argue about the ethics areas belonged to the old traditional rules and to the new areas coming up with internet by the help of researches. The general data about the present situation of the news portals whose number is increasing day by day is also obtained in this survey. The considerable amount of the workers of the news portals is neither educated on journalism nor has the occupational experience on the journalism. More than half of the sites employ workers without insurance, have difficulty of paying the wages in time, can not have a team work, and the women among their staff are minorty. On the other hand, the news portals in Turkey that find the legal arrangements on internet insufficient have legal problems such as ?wrong data or stealing of the news? and some are exposed to fines due to any news. In spite of all these, the organizing of the news portals can just be called as an assocation and their characteristic is open to debate. However despite everything it is essential to consider and work on the various legal, scientific, social, economic and associatonal solutions that will include news reporting also attached with the traditional media.
