Kadim tarihiyle köklü medeniyetlere yurt olan Konya, Anadolu Selçuklu Devleti'nin de başkentliğini yüklenmekle birlikte önemli bir sanat ve kültür merkezi haline gelmiştir. Anadolu'da gelişen bu olumlu ortam, İslam âleminin değerli bilginlerini, sanat adamlarını, şairlerini ve dönemin en ünlü kalem ehlini Konya'da buluşturmuştur. Bunun doğal bir sonucu olarak tarihe damga vuran müstesna eserler meydana gelmiştir. Konya, sanat ve kültür merkezi olarak en parlak dönemini bu zamanda yaşamıştır. Konya'da yer alan Karatay, İnce Minareli, Sırçalı Medreseler ile Alaaddin Camii yapılarının taç kapı ve unsurlarında yer alan süslemelerinin doğada birçok canlı ve cansız varlığın yapısında mevcut olan Altın Oran sayısı ve oranına göre tasarlanıp inşa edilmişlerdir. İncelenen eserlerin taç kapılarının geneli ve süsleme unsurları Altın Oran kuramınca incelenmiştir. Bu taç kapıların tasarımlarının genel olarak belli bir düzen ve simetri içerisinde olduğu ancak bazı unsurlarında bu simetrinin uygulanmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Yapıların kademelenmeleri dıştan içe doğru anlatılıp, yapılışları, düzenleri, tezyinatları açısından birbirine benzeyen taç kapı ve süslemeleri bir bütün olarak ele alınıp, tasarım ilkeleri doğrultusunda incelenip bilim dünyasına tanıtılmıştır.

Karatay Madrasah, Ince Minare Madrasah, Sırcalı Madrasah and Alaaddin Mosque in Konya were designed and build according to the number of Golden Ratio.
