The present study has been performed to show dissection of the anatomical structures forming the paranasal sinuses in the New Zeland rabbit and to make three dimensional reconstruction of the paranasal sinus and concha images obtained from the multidedector computed tomography (MDCT) for revealing biometric volues of these sinuses. With this aim 8 male and 8 female, totally 16 mature New Zealand rabbits have been used in the study. After having the high solution MDCT images of the animals have been killed by using the suitable way and the paranasal sinuses have been disected. The images obtained from the MDCT have been put on another and reconstructions have been made by the three dimensitonal model program (mimics) and the biometric measurements of the structures that constitute the paranasal sinuses have been done automatically. According to the dissection and the MDCT images; maxillary sinus have been formed by two compartment in New Zealand rabbit. Also it has been detected that there is nasolacriamal canal in the compartment that seperates each other. It has been seen that conchae have a more developed and more curled structure. Frontal sinus and sphenoid sinus haven?t been seen and a real ethmoidal sinus hasn?t been observed. All the statistical analyses have been done in the SPSS 13,0 packet program with independent t test. In the present study, there is no statistically important difference (p<0.05) between the sinuses and conchae that constitude the right and left sinus paranasales of the same genders but these sinuses of the different genders have a statistically important difference. As a result, in this study the datas that have been got according to the modern anatomy education and the investigation are being considered to prepare a ground and model to the studies to be made on paranasal sinuses.
