In this study, theoretical and experimental analyzes were carried out for active and passive distillation system working with solar energy. Distillation system performance was investigated theoretically for Konya, Mersin, Muğla, Şanlıurfa, and Antalya which come forward in the Solar Energy Potential Atlas (GEPA) report due to the potential of Solar Energy. Theoretical analysis of the distillation system was compared with the experimental system in conditions of Konya. According to results maximum amount of distillation was found in the Şanlıurfa for both passive system and active system. The theoretical and experimental analyzes was made between 06.00 am - 07.00 pm hours during the day were determinated the amount of system efficiency and distilled water mass. The amount of distillation was found in the theoretical analysis for the passive system 742.90 g, experimental analysis 708.29 g, in the theoretical analysis for the active system 3629.24 g experimental analysis 3458.77 g. Distillation system efficiency was found for passive system 9,39% of theoretical analysis 8.79% of experimental analysis, for the active system efficiency in the theoretical analysis 11,89% and experimental analysis 10.66%. It has been observed that the distillation continues during the experiments night hours when there is no radiation. Considering the amount of distillation produced at night, system efficiency was found 20.9% for passive system and 16.7% for active system.
