Azerbaycan Demokratik Cumhuriyeti zamanı 1919 yılında kurulan Komünist gazetesi Azerbaycan solcularının en önemli gazetesi olmuştur. Azerbaycanda Sovyet iktidarı kurulduktan sonra bu gazete yeni sovyet cumhuriyyetinin resmi yayın organı olarak yayınına devam etmişdir. 1920 yılından itibaren sadece Azerbaycanda değil tüm Kafkasyada okunan gazete İkinci Dünya Savaşı zamanı 600 000 tiraj'a ulaşmıştı. 1990 yılından itibaren gazete "Halk gazetesi" olarak yayımlandığı için genel literatürde gazete bu isimle biliniyor. Azerbaycan dilinde iç ve dış gelişmeleri okuyucularına ileten gazete İkinci Dünya Savaşı döneminde de en büyük gazete ismini korumuştur. Bu çalışmada Komünist gazetesinin basın-kamuoyu ilişkisi incelendikten sonra tarihsel kimliği ve gazetecilik bakışı ele alınarak bu hususta Sovyetlerle Türkiye ilişkilerinin basına etkisi anlatılmıştır. Sonuç olarak Kommunist gazetesi diğer Sovyet gazeteleri gibi devletin resmi yayın organı olarak olaylara devletin görüşü açısından aynı fikirlerde bulunmuş ve meselelere bakışını devletin politikasıyla özdeşleşmiştir. Bu çalışma Sovyetler açısından Türkiye ile ilişkileri ve İkinci Dünya Savaşı öncesi dost olan iki ülkenin savaş zamanı nasıl bir birinden koptuğunu anlamak için ideal kaynak olma niteliğini taşımaktadır.
The Communist Newspaper, established in 1919, during the government period of the Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan, was the most important newspaper of Azerbaijani leftists. After the establishment of Soviet power in Azerbaijan, this newspaper continued to be published as the official publication of the new Soviet Republic. Since 1920 onwards, newspaper has been known not only in Azerbaijan, but also in the entire Caucasus, and during the World War II reached 600,000 circulation. Since 1990, the newspaper has been published as "Halk gazetesi" ("People`s newspaper"), so in general literature it is known by this name. The newspaper, which transmitted the internal and external affairs in Azerbaijani language to its readers, was regarded as the most widely read newspaper during the period of World War II. In this study, the Soviet-Turkish relations and their influence on the the press has been researched after reviewing the press-public relations, the historical identity and the journalistic outlook of the Communist newspaper. Here by, the Communist newspaper, being the official publication body of the state and like other Soviet newspapers, had the same with the state's opinion regarding the events, and identified own views of matters according to the state`s. This study carries the ideal source for understanding of the position of the Soviet Union regarding the relations with Turkey and how the two nations, being friends before the World War II, broke out their relations during the period of battle.
