Technology of various kinds have played a crucial role in this transformations in the art and society,. for example, the discovery of photography essentially questioned the functions of art. Especially, using photomechanical reproduction raised questions about the "uniqueness" of copies as works of art. These issues had to do with a new social function for artist's work, a new subject matter, a new way of seeing and experimenting with new art forms and of dealing with the question of copy as opposed to the value of the original. Instead offacing with these issues, they developed modernist aes-thetic, that is, a theology based idea of "pure" art, which canonized as it as spiritual entity which lay beyond categorization. However, postmodernism is a dynamic, systemic cultural conditi on that informs most disiplins in electronically mediated societies. Computer generated images reflect many issues of postmodern characteri stics in the image-synthetic, "simulacrum" society. This paper explores the issues of the traditional and contemporary immitation theories that appear related tü form and content of computer generated images.
