Richard Sennett’in çalışmalarında toplumsallaşmanın bazı referans alanları ve modernlik

Abstract

Sosyal eylem, toplumun ferdi olmak üzere toplumsal deger, inanç ve kurallasmıs ilkeleri içsellestirme edimidir. Sosyal eylem, toplumun ortak bilgi, deger ve ilkeler üzerinde uzlasıp bunları süreklilestirmesi ile kurumsallasmaktadır. Her türlü toplumsal veriyi içsellestirme süreci ise sosyalizasyon olarak adlandırılmaktadır. Modernite, ekonomik ve siyasal etkinlik aracılıgıyla toplumsal deger ve normları yeniden yapılandırma yetenegine sahiptir. Bu nedenle modernite elestirisi sosyolojinin daimi konusudur. Richard Sennett bu elestiriyi, sosyo-psikolojik yaklasım beraberinde, yeni toplumsal kurumların ürettigi deger ve ilkelerin insan iliskisini sekillendirmesi açısından gelistirmektedir. Toplumsal kurumlardan dönüsüme daha yatkın olan ekonomi ve siyaset, sosyal evreni insa ettikleri kanallarda etkilesimi zayıflatmıslardır. Etkilesimin zayıflıgı, genel olarak toplumsallasmanın dogasının bozulması ve bireysellesmenin artması anlamına gelmektedir. Bu makalede de Sennett’in çalısmalarında aktör olarak öznenin, toplumsal kurumların ve sosyalligin modernite tarafından nasıl dönüstürüldügü incelenmektedir.

Social action is an activity to internalize beliefs, values and norms on the purpose of the individual in the society. Social action institutionalizes by means of values, norms and knowledge, which are compromised and practiced by the society. The process of internationalization of every kind of social parameter is named ‘socialization’. Modernity has an ability to reconstruct the social values and norms in line with economic and political activity. That is why, the critique of modernity is one of the main issues in sociology. By considering social psychological approach, Richard Sennett develops this criticism in terms of the values produced by social institutions and the design of the principles that shape human relations. Economy and politics as social institutions, which are more convenient to social transformation have caused declined interaction by means of ways that they construct the social order. The weakness of the interaction means the decline of socialization and increase of individualism. This study focused on how the modernity transformates the subject as an actor, and also social institutions and sociability in Sennett’s works.
