Bu ÇtJlışmada, benzer ekonomik, tarihsel ve toplumsal gelişmeler altında, eş zamanlı bir süreçte ortaya çıkmış
olan Tahsin Yücel'in Vatandaş ile Albert Camus'nün Düşüş an/ahları arasındaki illşkl ele alınarak, insanlığın evrensel
bel/e!JI aracıfığıyla yazarların kalemine yansıyan benzerlikler ve farklıfıklar, biçim ve içerik düzleminde araştırılmışhr.
Bunun için öncelikle eserler ayn ayrı incefenmiş, daha sonra iki yapıt arasında ki benzerlik/er ve farklılık/ar tespit
edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Ancak, çalışma bir etki çalışması değildir; tek tar.aftı ya da karşılıktı bir etkilenme araştırmasına
girişilmemiştir. Aynı dönemlerde dünyada gelişmekte ofan, il. Dünya Savaşı, açlık, yoksulluk, soykırım, insani
sorumsuzluk/ar, askeri darbeler gibi benzer tarihse/ ve toplumsal o/ayfara şahitlik eden ue çalışmanın konusunu
o/U§turan yapıtları hemen hemen aynı zamanlarda yayımlayan iki yaıarın, bir birey ve yazar olarak, yaşama ve
dünyaya bakışlarındaki ortak noktalar tespit edilerek, iki farklı ulus ve küttür arasındaki kesişme ve ayrışma noktalan
ortaya konmaya çalışılmıştır. Sonuçta, iki ayn ırka, kültüre ve dile sahip yazarlar, dünyada yaşanan benzeri olaylar ve
kültürel aktarımlar sonucunda, özgün yapılarına rağmen, biçim ve içerik bakımından benzer yapıtlar ortaya
koymuşlardır. Anlatılan birbirinden ayıran küçük farklıfıklar ise yapıtların özgünlüğünü ortaya çıkarmaktadır.
in this study our alm has been to dwe/1 on the interrelatfons of the two contemporary nouels of Tahsin Yücel and
Albert Camus by the names of "Cltiıen" (Vatandaş) and "The Fal/" (La Chute) enacting in the course ofa perlod that
covers the development of tdenttca/ concepts such as economy, history and society. We haue also scrutfnized the
universal siml/arltles and the d/uergences of mankind that haue been ref/ected by the narratives of these authors in
terms of stylistlcs and context. in this sense, pre/lmlnarlfy each achlevement being briefly examined one by one, the
dlvergences and the slmllarltfes in between these two achievements have been sought to be put forth. However, the
foca/ polnt of the study we haue carried out does not amount to an lnfluence study. Thus, our aim has not been to be
in pursult of a unllateral or a mutual lnfluence. in other words, the common and confllcttng standpoints of the two
dlscrete socletles and cultures Judg/ng /rom the two achievements of these contemporary authors that ref/ect the
/amine, pouerty, genoclde, lrresponslbllittes, mllitary reuolutıons, World War II in their achieuements have been trled
to be put forward. Al/ in al/, notwithstandlng thelr speciflc sty/es, the two authors having two dlscrete nationa/ities and
cultures, yielded analogous achieuements as a resu/t of the simi/ar worldwide occurrences. As for the nuances that
delineate the discrepancies separatfng the two achlevements, they vindicate the originality of the cases recounted lrı
these achlevements.
