Sevinç Çokum, 1950 sonrası Türk romanının ve hikayesinin önemli
isimlerindendir. Çokum, gerek yaşayan Türk kültürünü, gerekse mitolojik bir
hüviyet kazanmış Türk kültürünü, eserlerinde sıklıkla kullanmıştır. Ancak bu
konuları sadece dış özellikleriyle değil; toplumsal fonksiyonlarıyla işlerni~tir. Bu
çalışmada, yazarın Türk kültürünün hangi konularını, hangi unsurlarını eserlerinde
kullandığı tahlili bir tarzda ele alınacak ve Çokum'un fikirlerinin arka planı tespit
edilmeye çalışılacaktır.
Sevinç Çokum is one of the leading figures of post-1950 Turkish novel
and story. Çokum uses both themes of Turkish culture and mithology in her
books. But she uses these topics not only in tenns of physical aspects, but also
social f unctions of that culture as well. This study intends to examine the themes
of Turkish culture which were used by the author and to understand the
background of Çokum's ideas.
