Deyimler, atasözleri gibi kalıplaşmış sözler olması dolayısıyla bir milletin yaşantısını, kültürünü
ve tarihini gelecek kuşaklara yansıtan en önemli söz birliklerinin başında gelir. Dilin ilk kullanım
dönemlerinden itibaren kullanılmaya başlanılan ve atasözlerine benzer şekilde deneyim, gözlem ve
tecrübelerle yoğrulan deyimler mecaz sanatıyla da bütünleşip zenginleşerek dil içerisinde kendine geniş
bir kullanım alanı bulmuş ve ayrıca bugün bir milletin dağılış coğrafyasını da bize kültür atlası hâlinde
göstermektedir.
Deyimler; hem içinde yer alan kelimelerin dilde yaşama süreleriyle, hem de kelimelerin ifade
ettiği durumların millet hayatıyla örtüşmesiyle bugünlere pek az değişikliklerle gelmiştir. Öyle ki
deyimler dile zenginlik kattığı gibi toplum sosyolojisiyle toplumun değerleriyle birleşerek bir kültürü
yoğuran temel dinamiklerden de biri olarak karşımızda durmaktadır. Bugün Türk coğrafyasında
binlerle ifade ettiğimiz ortak deyimlerimiz içerisinde, Osmanlı coğrafyasında yer alan Türk
topluluklarının dillerine birçok ortak deyim yerleşmiş ve farklı coğrafyalarda aynı sözler benzer
şekillerde kullanılarak bugünlere gelmiştir.
Bu makale tarihten günümüze, Balkan coğrafyasında kullanılan ortak deyimlerimizden
hareketle kültür birlikteliğini ve bu birlikteliğin devamını göstermesi bakımından dikkat çekici tespitler
içerecektir. Ayrıca makalede, Balkan coğrafyasından tespit edilen deyimlerin Türkiye Türkçesinde tespit
edilen karşılıkları da yer alacaktır.
Being routine expressions just like proverbs, idioms are among the most important common
expressions which reflect the lifestyle, culture and history of a nation to the next generations. Idioms
which have been used since the early times of languge use and which were kneaded with experience
and observation just like proverbs were enriched with similes and found a large area of use in the
language. Besides, they show geographicaldistribution of a nation like a culture atlas.
Idioms have lived up to date very little changes due to the long existence of the words in them
and because the situtations they express matches with the life of a nation. Therefore, idioms not only
enrich the language but also appear to be one of the essential dynamics of the society which kneads a
culture of the society by mixing the sociology and the values of a society. Nowadays, many idioms
among thosands of common idioms in Turkish lands are settled in the languages of the Turkish
communities which used to live on the Ottoman lands and the same expression have lived up to date
and are now being used in different lands for similar functions.
This article will make interesting points with regard to cultural association and the continution
of this association following from the common idioms used in the Balkans. In addition, the Turkish
equaivalents of the idioms detected in the Balkans will be given.
