Farklı Bir Platformda Sivil Toplum ve Türkiye” isimli çalışmada, öncelikle civil
society kavramının, dilimizdeki karşılığı olan sivil toplum kavramına evrilirken, yitirdiği ve
bundan dolayı neden olduğu kavram ve anlam kargaşası ortadan kaldırılmaya çalışılmıştır.
Ayrıca sivil toplum kavramının, toplumların tarihsel boyutta geçirdikleri dönüşüm
süreçlerindeki izleri tanımlanmaya çalışılmıştır. Sivil toplum kavramı öncelikle medenilik
anlamı ve sonrasında, devletten ayrı bir alanı tanımlayan sivil toplum anlamı ile ele
alınırken, kavramın siyaset alanındaki yansımalarından ziyade, sosyolojik boyutta kavramı
ele alınmış ve tartışılmıştır. Sivil toplum kavramının kendisini var ettiği alanlardan biri olan
sivil toplum örgütleri ve non-govermental organization (NGO) lar, temelde belirli
niteliklerde sorgulanmış ve söz konusu sosyal alan sivil toplum örgütleri ve sosyal yasam
örgütleri olarak iki kategorik ayrımda tanımlanmıştır. Çalışmada Türk toplumsal tarihinin
izlediği yol sivil toplum kriterinde sorgulanmış ve Türk toplumsal hayatının parçası olan sivil
toplum örgütleri her açıdan tartışmaya açılmaya çalışılmıştır.
In the study titled “Civil Society on a different platform and Turkey”, firstly it is
aimed to eliminate the concept and meaning ambiguity caused by the translation of the
notion “civil society” into our language. Besides, the traces of the civil society notion in the
societies’ transformation process throughout the historical process are defined. The notion
of civil society has been primarily handled with the meaning of civilization and then with
the meaning of civil society which defines an area different from the state, and the notion
has been considered and discussed in sociological dimension rather than its reflections in
politics. Non-governmental organizations (NGO) that are one of the fields, in which civil
society concept exists, are examined basically in specific qualifications and the social field
in question is defined in two categorical sections as non-governmental organizations and
social life organizations. In this study, the route of Turkish social history is examined in
terms of the criteria of civil society and non-governmental organizations that constitute part
of Turkish social life will be discussed in all aspects.
