Kadın arastırmaları, bilimde kadınların “unutulusu”nu ve kadın bakıs açısının yok sayılmasını
elestirmektedir.
Woman studies criticizes the oblivion of females and female perspectives in sciences. These
aims, which come out in their own accord and are related with women, comprise the practice of
women's view point and determining emptinesses in science and filling them. In that case, it is
necessary to complete male-oriented history writing with female-oriented one or replace the former
with the latter.
Unfortunately, before the Republic, women's studies which were made in the last period of the
Ottoman Empire have been neglected. Therefore, to save all together Ottoman lecturers’ and scholars’
old letter works that include topics on women’s health, women's aesthetics, professional women,
women’s psychology, women's morality, women's skills, women's clothing, women's ornaments,
women love, women characters of various nationalities, women's authority, various women's behavior
etc. would provide both building bridges from the past to the future in women's studies and to make
use of women's studies before the republic. At the same time among these; theater and the novel works
are also existent. The majority of the original studies that we have identified were studies derived from
the Turkish libraries, all of which will be presented here for the first time, are written in Ottoman
Turkish. Morover, translations of some of them into modern Turkish will greatly contribute to women's
studies. These works will be presented as art books, magazines and newspaper studies.
