In order to determine the effects of nitro and pyridyl moieties on the lipase catalyzed enantioselective reactions, various calix[4]arene derivatives-functionalized with nitro, pyridine and both of functional groups (5,6,9,10) have been synthesized. Structures of all synthesized compounds have been characterized using spectroscopic techniques (FTIR, 1H NMR and 13C- NMR). Different functionalized calix[4]arene derivatives and Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles were used as additives for the encapsulation of lipase. Then, these encapsulated lipases were performed as effective catalysts for the enantioselective hydrolysis reaction of (R/S)-flurbiprofen methyl ester. Moreover, the effects of reaction parameters such as temperature and pH on the catalytic affinities of the encapsulated lipases were also discussed.
