Her CMYK renginin
This study aims, adaptation of a computer aided controlled ink flow scheme to conventional offset printing systems in order to obtain better color density on the prints
which match to the color density on the original image. In conventional offset printing
systems, color density of the print is controlled manually by adjusting the angular position of the main screw of the ink release valves. Master copy to be reproduced is digitized by using a scanner. Digitized image of the master copy in RGB mode is transferred into CMYK mode. Variation of color density in the digitized image along the axis normal to the printing direction is determined by using developed computer software. In order to control color density, printing ink flow control is realized by microcontroller control of the step motors which drive the ink release valves. By using developed computer program the image is divided into slices lying along the axis normal to the printing direction. Mean color density of the slices is computed for each color component of the CMYK image. Developed control scheme is implemented on 1985 model Man Roland 200 brand 52x74 type offset printing system. Sample printing runs has been carried by using manual control and computer aided control schemes for ink flow. Color densities values measured on the printed images of both control schemes, with the corresponding values on the original copy show that color density values obtained by using the presented computer aided ink flow control system is better than the color densities obtained through manually adjusted ink control system.
