This study, the importance of play in preschool and game effects on children's motor development was conducted to research. Who work in pre-school education at Batman Gültepe pre-school, including 50 of the experimental group and 50 in control group a total of 100 students participated. The average age of the students who participated in the study is 4,50±0,51years of age and applied "Motor Performance Test" which devoleped by Morris, Atwater, Williams and Willmore and used another test which is used by Sevimay in 1986 205 children aged 3-6 years in the development of motor performance testing. The datas from this study are given as average and standard deviation. The datas normality distribution wiewed with Kolmogorov-Simirnov Test, because of data that appear to be normal, parametric tests were used. We used Independest Samples "t" test at pre-test and post-test for comparison and we used Paired-Samples "t" tests at experimental and control groups for comparison. SPSS 16.0 statistical software package was used for all statistical calculating. In this study, significant differences was 0.05. As a result, this study made for examine importance of playing game in preschool period and affects on motor abilities that children. Compared to experimental and control groups pre test average datas, it was determined that control groups have higher average values on bouncing and running than experimental group (p<0,05) and experimental group have higher average values than control group on jumping and throwing tennis ball (p<0,05). If we compare to experimental and control groups last test results, it was determined that, on balance, bouncing, running and catching tests control group have higher average values than experimental group (p<0,05) experimental group have significantly higher average values than control group on jumping, standing long jumping and throwing tennis ball. If we compare the results of pre test and final test, it was identified that, there is a significant statistical reduction on average values of balance, bouncing, running and catching tests (p<0,05) and on the other hand there is a significant increase on average values of jumping, standing long jumping and throwing tennis ball tests (p<0,05). As a conclution of this results, it is thought that playing game in preschool period has positive contributions on development of motor abilities of children.
